Edgescan Integrates with the EUVD: A New Era in European Vulnerability Intelligence

In April 2025, the European Union Agency for Cybersecurity (ENISA) officially launched the European Union Vulnerability Database (EUVD).

EUVD is a strategic initiative aimed at strengthening cybersecurity resilience across the EU. Developed under the NIS2 Directive and the EU Cyber Resilience Act (CRA), the EUVD is designed to provide a centralized, consistent and enriched database of vulnerability intel tailored for European organizations.

What Is the EUVD?

The EUVD aggregates data from multiple trusted sources, including:

  • CVE and NVD entries
  • National CSIRT advisories
  • Vendor patch and mitigation guidance
  • Exploitation status indicators (e.g., evidence of exploitation in the wild.)

Each vulnerability is assigned a unique EUVD identifier (e.g., EUVD-2025-21128) and includes detailed metadata such as severity scores, affected products, exploitation characteristics, and remediation steps. The platform offers three specialized views:

  1. Critical vulnerabilities requiring urgent attention
  2. Actively exploited flaws in real-world attacks
  3. EU CSIRT-coordinated vulnerabilities for national-level response [1]

Edgescan’s EUVD Mapping: Enhancing Risk Context

Due to demand and to make our clients more aware of the vulnerability landscape, Edgescan has now integrated EUVD mapping into its vulnerability intelligence engine. This means that vulnerabilities discovered by Edgescan are automatically cross-referenced with EUVD entries, providing users with:

  • EUVD identifiers alongside CVE and EPSS scores
  • Contextual risk insights based on European threat intelligence
  • Prioritization support aligned with EU regulatory frameworks

Edgescan’s platform already correlates vulnerabilities with other sources like CISA KEV, CVSS, and EPSS, SSVC, NIST LEV, via our AI Insights and vulnerability validation technology.

Why It Matters

For European enterprises, this integration offers:

  • Improved compliance intel with EU cybersecurity mandates
  • Faster response and visibility to vulnerabilities actively exploited in Europe
  • Reduced reliance or a secondary view of vulnerability intelligence in addition to US databases such as NVD

As the EUVD continues to evolve, Edgescan’s proactive alignment ensures its users stay ahead of emerging threats—both globally and locally.
